I've been in front and backend web development for over two decades. I've used every web host available, including Wix. I even became a Wix "Partner" developer a year and a half ago. Just one of my many certs and web dev hats. Things were fairly decent until May 2019 when Wix began actively destroying every positive aspect of their functionality. I login and elements have shifted, metatags are wiped, meta descriptions are gone. Titles are jibberish or unchangeable. The issue with Wix is that it is essentially a software program and when they run updates, it blows through every website, knocking elements out of place, wiping fields and links, etc. And there is no way to copy, save or export your work with Wix. You build it on Wix, it stays on Wix unless you take the time to rebuild ELSEWHERE. And I do mean, rebuild. Over the Summer, Wix released a, "new" blog which now does not follow RSS feed guidelines. You cannot import your RSS feeds into another blog. Get ready to type each character one by one. And how about domain transfers? They sit on them for the entire 7 days, no way to speed it up. And no way to edit nameservers to point to the new website before you start the transfer process.
Wix.Com's entire goal is to grab a customer and trap them. While raising their prices dramatically and constantly. In 2018, they still only charged $7. a month, now the minimum is $23. And every app cost more. Blogs, booking, calendar, chat, etc. Even FORMS!! I used to love you Wix. But now I can't hate you enough.
